“Moist Von Lipwig is a conman, forger and trickster, always on the lookout for the next big game. Until one of his many personas has a run-in with the law and is hanged to within an inch of his life.” So begins Going Postal. Monstrous Productions are back with another Terry Pratchett adaptation raising money for Alzheimer’s Research UK. Terry Pratchett was and remains one of the world’s best loved fantasy writers, noted for his comic touch. In Going Postal, he tells the story of a man who sees his world crumble as his life catches up with him. Before Moist Von Lipwig is hanged, he’s saved by the cunning Patrick Havelock Vetinari who gives him an alternative of either working in the post office that has lots of undelivered mail from the past 20 years, or walking out the door that would lead to a fatal drop. Needless to say Lipwig accepts the job.
Monstrous Productions last Terry Pratchett production was a big success staging Pratchett’s Eric, and no doubt this will be another hit. Monstrous Productions have been bringing Pratchett’s Discworld to The Gate for a few years now and each one has been gathering momentum, raising over £16,000 for such a brilliant cause, Alzheimer’s Research.
