How Will I Know If Heaven Will Find Me? (Fiction)

It’s been almost three years since Reading four-piece The Amazons released their second album Future Dust. Its follow-up, How Will I Know If Heaven Will Find Me?, won’t disappoint. Album opener and quasi-title track How Will I Know hints of a new beginning of more uplifting music for this group, and the rest follow suit with joyously singalongable tracks like Bloodrush and Wait For Me.

These louder, arena rock-ready songs are intertwined with slower, atmospheric numbers such as Northern Star and For The Night. How Will I Know… has a keen balance of bright, uplifting and catchy guitar-based songs with heavier, yet energetically electric turns, and as always, Matt Thomson’s powerful vocals make a bold statement.

Equally reminiscent here of classic rock bands – Free or Bad Company, say – and modern-day indie types from The Wombats to Bastille, The Amazons are definitely one to keep an eye on for the 2023 festival bills.
