St Fagans Food Festival
This Welsh open-air museum, known for bringing history to life, once again hosts its annual food festival. Cheese, pizza, burgers and so much more – St Fagans’ National Museum Of History is welcoming food traders of all kinds. Local food producers will be coming together to share some of their specialty dishes with visitors from all over. Some familiar food traders from last year’s festival, such as The Chocolate Brownie Company, The Blaenafon Cheddar Company and Glam Lamb, will be returning this year to join in on the fun once again.
With cuisines coming together from around the world, visitors can add some spark to their cooking by taking home some tips to charge up kitchen-related adventures. From learning completely new dishes to being introduced to all kinds of vinegars and sauces, see what changes you can make to your cooking habits. If you’re not a hands-on cook, then maybe you’ll find some inspiration here.
As well as tasting some of the food on offer, you can even have a crack at starting from scratch by learning how best to grow your own vegetables. There are few better places to start than here. The National Vegetable Society will be at the event to show you how to cultivate onions to perfection. The society will be armed with DVDs and brochures available with some handy growing advice, but who needs those when you can see it for yourself?
The festival is suitable for all ages, so you can bring the whole family and make the day of it. When you arrive, unwind from the car journey with the kids and enjoy a couple of snacks from The Chocolate Brownie Company, who offer a huge range of flavours – and if you’re not designated driver, you could go for an alcoholic ‘poptail’ from Cava Van to slip into the rest of the day.
