May bank holiday weekend is the weekend where you check supermarkets’ opening times and the weather at least twice. If you have no plans yet, Knife and Fork have two of their top beer festivals this weekend. The gastropub in Penarth, The Pilot is home to fantastic food and a delightful atmosphere. Their food is mentioned as not only will they will be serving their usual menu but on the 27th-30th of May, but we will also see a BBQ so you can eat to your heart’s desire, not to mention taste the selection of beers available at the festival.
If you can’t get down to The Pilot, don’t fret, you’ve got another option. The Discovery in Cardiff is also having a beer festival this bank holiday. Although there is no BBQ, their menu is available, including their delicious Glamorgan sausages. Plus, both beer festivals will have live music entertainment while you try a variety of beers.
Both The Pilot and The Discovery will house a selection of brewers this weekend, including Cornish Crown, Great Heck, Vale, Celt, Liverpool Organic, Partners, 4ts, Twisted and VOG. So if the supermarkets are closed and the weather is lush, head to The Pilot or The Discovery this bank holiday weekend.
Don’t panic if you one of the unfortunates to work over the bank holiday, Knife and Fork are hosting many more beer festivals in the next few months. There will be a beer festival at The Pilot on the 27th-30th May and the 26th-29th August. The Discovery has one this bank holiday weekend and also the 26th-29th August.
