London-based singer-songwriter Jonathan Jeremiah brings hope to the forefront on his fifth studio album, Horsepower For The Streets. Radiantly orchestral and groovy to the core, the record challenges hardship through love and optimism.

The title track of Horsepower For The Streets foresees a journey, meeting the listener with ease. The harmonious strings hold the artist’s deep vocals as if from above, giving a sense of resolution to the hard times that we shared “Our world been getting wilder by the minute / But change is on the breeze”. Nonetheless, love is key to moving forward, Jeremiah singing “It’s your love what’s been setting these wheels in motion”.

Further references to wheels, trains and the like get scattered throughout; seemingly, Horsepower For The Streets breathes through such small details that give it a singularity. Despite the heartfelt lyricism, Jonathan Jeremiah’s feelings are direct, and when Youngblood follows through, it brings with it an atmosphere that makes you feel like you’re about to watch a classic Western.
