The largest food festival in the county and city of Swansea, Gorseinon Food Festival is a mouthwatering day out for the whole family. Every single supplier and producer at the festival is based within Wales. Showcasing 120 stalls, at least 70 are hailed as being entirely local while over 80% of the producers come from within a 50-mile radius of Gorseinion. So stick your middle finger up to Tesco and support your local food producers and traders; £100 says the food you try at Gorseinon will make the supermarket’s ‘fresh’ produce taste like cardboard anyway. Cookery demonstrators include Swansea’s Vintage Tea Company’s Sian Day and Andrew Addis-Fuller, consultant to Channel 4’s Secret Supper Club. Free park and ride makes it a cheap and cheerful event, with entertainment for the little ones while you pick at the food that’s too healthy for them to eat. Don’t fret about the unpredictable Welsh weather either: the whole festival is conveniently under cover, so nothing can stop you from supporting Welsh produce and feasting on some of our country’s yummiest dishes.
