Brit Rising Star nominee and worthy future pop royalty Caity Baser returns with Still Learning, an unapologetically transparent, addictive and zero-skip mixtape of relatable bops. In what feels like a series of conversational diary entries, the 21-year-old singer-songwriter has flavours of Lily Allen, Kate Nash and Meghan Trainor, but she’s very much in her own lane.
It’s rare to find such a talent that can write incredible songs, deliver the story well and serve the vocals like Baser does, as she guides us from jazzy vibes through to r’n’b. A standout is Oh Well, which could soundtrack a Gen Z update on any given 00s chick-flick, and The Plot – a good prediction for the next Baser track to trend on socials.
