Named after the birthplace of Fela Kuti, the pioneer of modern Afrobeat music, Ogun State is a night at The Big Top commemorating afro-infused music. The night features DJ sets from Viewpoints and The Milkshake Boys playing exclusively, afrobeat and Afro-inspired funk, soul and disco. Ogun State is a night suited to all those who appreciate the ever-present rhythm in music of black origin. All proceeds go towards Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO) a charity that recruits professionals as volunteers to live and work alongside local populations in developing countries

Coinciding with the annual celebration of Volunteers’ Week and Refugee Week, Nigel Pugh’s exhibition presents a series of new photographic portraits and texts documenting volunteers working with refugees across Wales. Creating Sanctuary intends to illustrate the volunteers work as ‘sanctuary makers’ who are assisting in the recreation of refugees lives.

4. ‘Welsh Inspiration’ Lithographs by Graham Sutherland

This exhibition displays the etchings of Graham Sutherland, a renowned artist that had worked as part of the War Artists’ Scheme. Many of Sutherland’s pieces take inspiration from landscapes of by Pembrokeshire coast, which he described to be characterised by an ‘exultant strangeness’. An unmissable exhibition filled with surreal appreciation of Pembrokeshire.

10. Cardiff Gin & Vodka Festival
