MINAS
Grazes EP (Silent Kid)
Continuing with his brand of personal exorcism, Greek/Welsh producer and musician James Minas spoke to Buzz in December 2022 after the release of his debut album, All My Love Has Failed Me. On that occasion, he mentioned the therapeutic nature writing music had upon him, and the latest Minas EP, Grazes, is a similarly raw and unfiltered exploration of the struggles and complexities of working-class life.
Beats, dread and anxiety-fuelled bass and the menacing voices of an inner psyche, where both the pretty and ugly are welcome. Following the release of singles The Public Ain’t Spoken and Chatty Patty, the newer I Wish I Could Be 23 Again is a moment to reminisce and take stock, ultimately making what follows on Grazes that much bigger. Stress scraps with financial anxiety and existential dread, Minas’ production unsettling and mirroring a bubbling underneath-the-skin feeling.
