Craft in the Bay, Cardiff
Christmas shopping can sometimes feel like a mad dash through town centres, with a lot of the same present ideas popping up in the shops. If you’re in need of something a little different, the Hygge Christmas Exhibition could be just the thing for you. Craft in the Bay are hosts to this special exhibition, packed with unique gifts inspired by hygge. But what is hygge I hear you ask?
The Danish word hygge (pronounced hue-gah) translates into something along the lines of ‘enjoying life’s simple pleasures’. With the festive season being a time for cwtching indoors with loved ones, expect to see plenty of scarves, homeware, and warm clothes to wrap up in. From paintings to handmade Christmas wreaths, you’ll be able to find pieces for both presents and decoration at this inspired exhibition.
The works on display are handmade with incredible attention to detail, made by gifted and inspired artists. This exhibition is a great opportunity to find gifts that you wouldn’t find anywhere on the high street, made with quality materials and inspired designs. This exhibition houses pieces from artists across the UK, that have subtle festive touches that add a bit of sophistication to the gifts.
Not only is this exhibition a prime opportunity to grab a special gift, but ornate Christmas decorations are also on offer if you fancy a statement piece to your décor this season. The Danish style to the exhibition allows the pieces to make their statement in a light setting.
The exhibition has already opened to the public, but can be seen up until the beginning of January, leaving you plenty of time to spend an afternoon down the Bay. The items on offer cover all price ranges, so there will certainly be something for everyone.
