More than just a clever play on words, and not to be confused with Glastonbury, on the last weekend of July Barry will be hosting GlastonBarry, the ultimate tribute band festival. Mack Events are back for their fourth year, having been behind the successes of previous years. Since starting in 2013, the festival has gained a lot of interest, with it expanding into a weekend long event in 2015, which has continued this year. The 18+ event takes place in Barry’s Romilly Park and will feature painfully named tribute bands, like the Rolling Clones, Bon Giovi and the Antarctic Monkeys. Guns & Roses, Queen and Michael Jackson tributes are the main headliners, with smaller support acts set to play on the acoustic stages. With reasonable pricing and a killer line up, GlastonBarry is a weekend that allows fans to experience their favourite bands’ gigs, without them actually being there.
GlastonBarry, Romilly Park, Barry, Sat 30 + Sun 31 July. Tickets: £23. Info: 029 2023 0130 / www.glastonbarry.com
