The Ceri Richards Gallery in the Taliesin Arts Centre will be hosting an exhibition by Dorian Spencer Davies. Dorian is a Carmarthenshire born artist and studied Art at Dyfed College of Art from 1979-1983. His work has consisted of a mixture of illustration, graphics and paintings which he is developing all the time.
Dorian has spent most of his life in Pembrokeshire and was influenced by the beauty and magic of this coastline, which can be seen in most of his work. The new show reveals many aspects of his work and styles with his new semi aspects acrylics inspired by the Gower will be on display as well as the work he is more well-known for.
Davies said of the exhibition: “I wanted this show to display the many facets and breadth of my work and influences as well as a contrast of styles. My work is always changing and I think experimentation of styles and media is healthy and keeps my work fresh and exciting”. He added that: “The Welsh coast is always an important element and influence on me and this will continue to be for many years to come”
The exhibition is a delight, with colourful, vivid and playful musings on undeniably Welsh landscapes, showcasing Davies’ inspired imagination.
