For the record, Quiz Quest is not a pub quiz. Pub quizzes involve boring, drawn-out rounds about news and football and celebrities and current affairs stuff, hosted by an over-zealous compere  with an arsenal of gags so godawful they’re prone to leave you spluttering into your pint. According to organisers Jonny Bull and Ben Partridge, Quiz Quest is more of a ‘multimedia pub quiz carnival’. And if you haven’t a clue what that means, watch this video from February’s quiz, which was themed entirely around ‘Stephens’ and was complemented by the hosts’ Terry Gilliam-esque animations.

This month, Quiz Quest goes to the movies, with rounds that include classic films like Marley and Me, Three Men and a Baby and Jaws. There are, naturally, prizes for the winner: last month’s quiz winners were treated to a lemon drizzle cake. This month it’s chocolate. There’s also food at the event – usually a chilli or cawl, which apparently people like. And there are also the delightful Gwdhiw brownies, of which organiser Jonny Bull has this to say: “I agreed to do the quiz specifically so I would be able to eat more Gwdihw brownies.”
