Two-day live bonanza CELEBRATE THIS PLACE brings CASISDEAD, WARMDUSCHER and more to Cardiff Tramshed
May 25 @ 18:00 – May 26 @ 23:00
For its second year, Celebrate This Place is coming to Cardiff. Devised by Clwb Ifor Bach and with a celebratory lineup to match its name, 2024 sees mask-donning rapper Casisdead headline his first Cardiff gig, whilst the following day Warmduscher finish off the late-bank holiday shindig at Tramshed.
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you should’ve heard of Casisdead by now. Fresh from receiving a Brit award, the Pat Earrings rapper’s body of work is gritty and unique. How many MCs can you name that wear a too-realistic mask and spit about listening to Bowie whilst doing drugs, over an 80s synth (Traction Control)? It’s hard to miss sextet Warmduscher, too: comprising members from Fat White Family, Insecure Men and Paranoid London, the loud and filthy rock’n’rollers possess fuzzy guitar riffs, meteoric choruses and huge tracks like Midnight Dipper and I Got Friends.
If the headliners weren’t enough to get you excited, each night has a jam-packed lineup. On 25th May, Cas brings along multigenre rapper and singer Jelani Blackman, known for his silky, bass-heavy vocals; a live set from dreamy garage-electronica producer and songwriter Yunè Pinku; and another eclectic up-and-coming rap star, Miso Extra – along with Cardiff-based grime-punk legend Minas. The following globetrotting night sees boisterous punk-meets-klezmer Londoners Fat Dog, New Orleans’ “genre-nonconformers” Special Interest, and Australian psych-rockers Babe Rainbow join Warmduscher on stage – with more to be announced, too.
With day and weekend tickets available, be sure to jump on the hype for one of the most exciting lineups in Wales so far this year.
Tickets: £40 weekend; £22.50 Sat 25; £25 Sun 26.
