Calling all wine connoisseurs! You will now be able to sample what’s promised to be some top-quality vino served from numerous independent venues all throughout Cardiff with the newly introduced Cardiff Wine Passport, from August to September. Consisting of a keepsake booklet priced at £25, each holder can claim a 175ml glass of wine from six various bars and restaurants of their choice around the Welsh capital, earning a precious stamp for their passport in return.
Businesses that have signed up for the Cardiff Wine Passport scheme include Bacareto, Curado Bar, Kindle, Bar 44, Daffodil, Gin & Juice, Rum & Fizz, Scaredy Cats, Vermut, Asador 44 and The Chilled & Tannin pop-up at Little Man Coffee. The passports are valid from Sun 7 Aug for six weeks and offer a choice of two different wines at each venue chosen. If you fancy pushing the boat out, with an additional fee you can add a suggested food pairing – consisting of a small plate or bar snack – to match the specific glass of wine chosen.
Hopefully set to become an annual fixture if successful, the creation of this scheme is supported by For Cardiff’s City Ambition Fund and aims to further contribute to the future of the city.
