BOEING BOEING | STAGE PREVIEW
Listed in 1991 as the most performed French play throughout the world, Black RAT productions have revived this energetic tale of womanising, melodrama and high farce for a 21 date tour around Wales this autumn. Starting at the Blackwood Miners institute, this tour will also incorporate Barry, Colwyn Bay, Cardigan and Pontypridd among others, before concluding with three nights in Cardiff.
Directed by Rich Tunley, this play captures wonderfully the spirit of the swinging sixties. The focus falls upon bachelor and man-about-town Bernard, played by Bakers Boys Star Richard Corgan, as he successfully juggles three Air Hostesses, all engaged. He manages to keep them in the dark about the others through careful manipulation of airplane timetables, and to great effect. This idyllic life, however, is shattered by the arrival of an old school friend and the deployment of a newer, faster Boeing. Both send Robert’s best laid plans up in the air. The subsequent unfolding of events leads to hilarious consequences for all involved.
