With the combination of two thriving local businesses, Cardiff will soon provide a unique opportunity for people to experience a unique combination of Welsh food and historic storytelling. The marriage between Cardiff History and Hauntings and Garlands Eatery in Duke Street Arcade, Cardiff will provide a feast of Welsh dishes alongside the legends of Cardiff’s past.
The new experience offers weekend ‘history breakfasts’ consisting of much loved Welsh food favourites followed by a walk to remember that’ll allow you to re-discover the lost souls from Medieval and Tudor Cardiff.
Jim Cowan of Cardiff History and Hauntings Museum has described the newly found partnership as a natural one. He said: “We both offer a proven quality product combined with a passion for Cardiff and Wales. We are both really excited about offering something that will be unique and fun”.
Cardiff History and Hauntings, founded in 2009 by Jim Cowan has become a popular hit with its Llandaff Ghost Walk. Garlands Eatery has continued to tantalize many eager taste-buds over the years and between its tasty triumphs and lively location it has proven to be an example of the best of great Welsh cuisine.
If the scheme takes off to be a success, there is hope that the journey will be extended with afternoon strolls and teatime treats; as well as buffets lit not only by candlelight, but by the trembling tales of Cardiff’s haunting past.
The history breakfasts will be available every Saturday morning from 5th March 2011 at the very reasonable price of £8.00 per person.
