If you and your friends are looking for an immersive experience look no further than the nomadic survival MMOG (massively multiplayer online game) Last Oasis. Set in a desert wasteland that brings back memories of (Dune) and (Mad Max), players are free to explore the open world Oasis’ as they see fit. Separated into two different types of difficulty zones medium and hard, each oasis is different, and players would have different experiences in each one. It should be noted that Last Oasis is currently still in early access meaning the game is constantly changing until its ultimate release.
For those who are not familiar with this genre, it is similar to games like (Rust) and (Ark: Survival Evolved) where players are required to constantly gather resources such as food and water to survive. In this case, Last Oasis being set in a desert wasteland water is the most important commodity. Players must constantly stay hydrated to survive.
The unique aspect of Last Oasis is its focus of walkers, which range from small to gigantic moving machines that help the player traverse the Oasis. The walker acts as the player’s mobile base and can be adapted for different purposes such as combat and harvesting raw materials.
A major problem in other survival games is the constant fear of logging on and realising you have been raided by other players. Last Oasis combats this with a feature known as safe-logging. Which allows players to safely store their walker bases outside of the Oasis, thus allowing more casual players to enjoy the game.
Being an MMO, this game is a clan-based game and is best enjoyed with a group of friends as solo-gameplay would be challenging for even experienced players to this genre.
Last Oasis is a high stake, high reward game. It is challenging and catered for the intense to casual player. The aim of the game is ultimately to survive and the playstyle is completely up to the individual player. Will you be wandering merchants, ruthless raiders or monster hunters the choice is yours. How will you unlock the secrets of the Oasis?
Early Access Last Oasis is available for PC Windows on Steam now.
