Kitsch & Sync’s Omnibus

Kitsch & Sync Collective have been bringing us joy for 15 years. The dance and street theatre company has graced pretty much every major Welsh festival for over a decade, and July they’re coming to Cultvr Lab for a night of comedy, dance and ‘immersive cabaret’. Their work draws on classic media and British culture, with absurd acts such as Cirque des Miserables, a trio of sad clowns, and Bedraggled, a gaggle of haggered mermaids. In recent years, the group have moved into accessible theatre. Renowned for their humour, polish, and, of course, their kitschy, retro flare, you may well have seen Coblyn, Kitsch & Sync’s collaboration with Theatr Iolo and Hijinx, about a mischievous gang of gnomes, last month at Welsh-language festival Tafwyl. Omnibus is a parody of classic British sketch shows, so expect slapstick chaos and socially-charged wit, with dance, puns and plenty of gaudy dresses. Tickets: £16-£23. words HARI BERROW
