Scottish rock quartet Twin Atlantic are set to take Cardiff University by storm this month, revving up their Autumn UK tour after their latest album release, GLA. Headlining 2000 Trees festival in July 2016 alongside Refused and releasing three very successful albums, the new LP was written in their home city with the content revolving heavily around rediscovering their roots and over a decade of being together as a band.
Twin Atlantic have been wielding radio-ready rock since their birth in 2006, with their first two EP releases, A Guidance From Colour and Vivarium, featuring punchy singles such as Lightspeed. The band struggled with certain errors made in their mini albums until their 2011 debut album, Free, catapulted them full force into the spotlight, with examples of tracks such as that LP’s title track cementing their journey into success.
Continuing with rigorous tours across the world, they have since released two more full length albums (2014’s Great Divide and 2016’s GLA) and a Greatest Hits mini-album released in December 2015. In the wake of their newest work, they released huge singles No Sleep and The Chaser. Although Twin Atlantic claim to have considered parting ways after GLA, thinking they’d taken the band as far as they could, what might have been their final curtain call is simply another chapter of their more than capable music abilities.
