One of the nation’s best-known and loved harpists, Catrin Finch is also one the most frequently touring, too. But before she and colourful Colombian musical troupe Cimarrón took to the road yet again for Finch’s latest show, we badgered her with our standard barrage of personal, probing questions…
What’s the most recent film you’ve watched that made you cry?
The Swimmers, on Netflix. It’s very moving.
Which celebrity (alive or dead) would you be too nervous to meet?
I’ve never really been nervous around anyone, but reckon I’d have had some butterflies meeting some big music star like Pavarotti or Freddie Mercury.
What’s the last thing you wrote in your notes app (or wherever you keep notes to yourself)?
A ‘to do’ list.
Which TV show is your guiltiest pleasure?
Game Of Thrones. Probably watched it all three times over by now!
What’s the last meal you’d request on the final night of I’m A Celebrity?
Pizza! I love pizza!
What song would you play to an alien who’d never heard human music before?
Song To The Moon, from Dvořák’s opera Rusalka.
What was the last outfit you wore that made you feel great?
My favourite striped trousers with Converse and a T-shirt!
If you could go back in time, which decade would you choose and why?
The 1970s, because that’s when life was free and easy, right? Great music, great parties, no mobile phones or internet and everyone wearing a pair of flares and platforms!
What’s your pettiest pet peeve?
The train service from Cardiff to London, which I have to take every week!
What’s your favourite and least favourite recurring dream?
I wish I knew… if only I could remember them!
