Sherman Cymru, Cardiff
Tues 19 – Sat 30 July
This summer, the playful, family friendly, and magical adventures of The Hunting of the Snark are coming to Cardiff. Based on the original poem by Lewis Carroll, this imaginative world is filled with puppetry, silliness and a delighting and exciting original soundtrack. The ragtag team of riotous and bold adventurers include the Boojum, the Banker, the Bandersnatch, the Boy, the Butcher, the Bellman, the Baker and the Knitting Beaver as they set off on their epic quest to catch the elusive Snark.
Lewis Carroll, the same man who created the colourful worlds of Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass, wrote the poem in 1876 Victorian England. This new musical comedy adventure, although based on Carroll’s original poem, was written by Annabel Wigoder. Wigoder has won awards from originations such as the Victoria TX Indie Film Fest, AVTAR Film Festival and Rincon International Film Festival. This show has won her five star reviews from Edinburgh Fringe and Latitude. Gareth Cooper, the composer and lyricist of The Hunting of the Snark, was one quarter of the award-winning sketch group, Delete the Banjax, so with this creative team, the stage production should be a thrilling trip for the kids this holiday.
