Celebrated wildlife photographer Doug Allan reaches Swansea and Newport over the next few weeks in a UK-wide tour featuring his charming anthology of wildlife footage, photography and anecdotes from the frozen polar regions. The acclaimed wildlife photographer is behind some of the BBC’s most renowned wildlife programmes such as Planet Earth, Human Planet, Life, Ocean Giants, Blue Planet, and the recently commended Frozen Planet. With endless awards under his belt, he has also recently received a second bar to his Polar Medal for his outstanding contribution to photography in the polar regions.
With the release of his book Freeze Frame, Doug is touring around the UK, sharing countless stories of adventure. On his imminent visit to the Taliesin Arts Centre, Swansea, on Wed 29 Feb and The Riverfront, Newport on Thurs 1 Mar, Allan will bring with him an abundance of anecdotes from some of the most secluded places in the world. Known to draw in wildlife enthusiasts with his irrefutable passion, tickets cost only £15, and with so many captivating stories to tell, there won’t be a dull moment. His astonishing tales of hungry walruses and agitated polar bears, accompanied by vivid pictures, can do nothing but speak the truth. With idyllic film footage that will take you to the Antarctic, his speaking tour will live up to expectations.
Having been described as “The toughest in the business” by none other than Sir David Attenbourgh, Doug Allan is one of the world’s leading wildlife photographers. Doug will also be holding a Q&A at the end of his talk for audience members to gain further insight into 35 years as a polar wildlife photographer. “What’s great about talking face to face is that it’s my chance to bring people right in behind the scenes. It’s like live TV, only better!”
