The pioneering artists behind extra{ordinary} – Photographs of Britain by The Caravan Gallery, at Diffusion Festival, Jan Williams and Chris Teasdale have taken The Abacus in Cardiff and transformed it into a dynamic art exhibition where Cardiffians are welcome to help create a warts and all celebration of the Welsh capital.
As part of the Pride of Place Project, visitors are being given the opportunity to define where they live using whatever talents they have, be it writing, photography, drawing, video, sculpture, singing or even knitting, helping to paint a portrait of Cardiff as a city.
Jan and Chris say “This is a great opportunity for the people of Cardiff to show off their local knowledge and creativity. Everyone is welcome to participate – schools, colleges, arts, crafts and community groups, photography and local history societies, sports associations, gardening clubs, writers and musicians, local food producers, shoppers, road sweepers, civil servants etc. We want to know about your Cardiff!” So come on down to Abacus on Wood Street and show the world what you, and Cardiff, are made of.
