TRAMPOLENE
In times like these we all need uplifting, and what better way to do so than by listening to indie rock goodness from Swansea’s very own Trampolene. Fronted by the crazily charming Jack Jones, Trampolene deliver head-spinningly good music that will blow your mind. From the charged fast-paced Alcohol Kiss to softer acoustic numbers such as Cinderella’s Shoe, Trampolene have been climbing up the music ladder for years and have gathered a cult following as a result. Latest single Uncle Brian’s Abattoir is gorgeously poetic and features Libertines frontman Pete Doherty.

PANIC SHACK
Female-powered punk combined with feisty lyrics: say hello to Panic Shack. Swirling up a storm on stage, this band have certainly made an impression in a very short space of time with their unapologetically loud music and adoration for chaos. If you are looking for music that is unique and different, Panic Shack will definitely provide for a pleasant surprise, minus the pleasantries of course. Latest single Jiu Jits You packs a punch with how good it is.

Music can portray a strong message, and this is certainly conveyed through the beauty of local indie-folk band Rosehip Teahouse. Advocates for mental health and positivity, it is easy to lose yourself in the soothingly soft tones of their music, whilst being enlightened and inspired by the poignant messages woven throughout. Fragile topics are addressed with an unwavering clarity, captured by lead vocalist and songwriter Faye Rodgers.
Rosehip Teahouse most recently recorded and released a track entirely in isolation, which may help you during these obscure times: It’s The Wrong Time, available to stream exclusively on Bandcamp.

There you have it: five Welsh bands, and some brilliant new music to listen to. I’ve named just a few above, but there are hundreds of local bands out there who could really do with your support and love at the moment. It is crucial we continue to help our local music scene in any way we can, whether that is by streaming music, purchasing physical copies of an album, buying merch, or donating to a local fundraising page.
