This is Italian composer Ruggero Leoncavallo’s gripping operatic thriller, one which blurs the lines between the stage and reality. Featured within, comedy actor Canio must perform as a husband whose wife is having an affair, even as his real-life marriage unravels.
Manchester Camerata: Māyā
Royal Welsh College Of Music & Drama Cardiff, South Glamorgan, UKManchester Camerata seem to perform at this venue quite often, but there’s no need to fear familiarity breeding contempt as they have a varied repertoire and this latest concert sounds promising. A collab with composer Rushil Ranjan and vocalist Abi Sampa, it will feature orchestral renditions of Carnatic song from southern India. Tickets: £8-£16.
