Does Wales have a greater-than-average affection for boaby-dazzler light entertainer John Barrowman? The Scottish-American’s career to date has lent him close ties to the nation, not least through filming Doctor Who and Torchwood in Cardiff, and with his solo showtunes-and-anecdotes tour including eight Welsh dates (Swansea, Carmarthen, Llandudno, Newtown, Brecon, Aberdare, Newport and Wrexham), it seems Barrowman and/or his people are hoping for a big response from the land of song. They’re calling the tour Laid Bare, cited as a reference to its no-frills aesthetic; it may also prompt people to remember the actor’s notorious habit of walking around on set with his genitalia out, indeed this could be interpreted as an attempt at a penitent comeback.
