Bristol indie heroes IDLES bringing CRAWLER to Motorpoint Arena Cardiff

March 31 @ 19:00 22:30

Following a delay of nearly two years from the originally scheduled date, and a further six-week wait to the end of March after stormy weather nixed their slot on Fri 18 Feb, Bristolian postpunk act Idles will be bringing their signature fiery live performance to the Motorpoint Arena Cardiff. Unashamedly political and bravely experimental, the band will be touring in support of their new album Crawler, as well as playing songs from their 2020 album Ultra Mono, and diving into their back catalogue with raucous crowdpleasers like I’m Scum and Well Done.

Expect the show to feature plenty of unchained energy, yet also tenderness, as the band continue to hone their ability to balance the two. While Idles are lauded for their righteous anger, and anthems which inspire huge singalongs, Crawler takes a turn for the introspective, with moments like Progress and The Beachland Ballroom commenting on topics from substance abuse to mental health.

And far from being just a show, the Motorpoint concert in Cardiff will be an opportunity for fans to come together in appreciation of Idles’ music, and recognition of their message: that, as the concluding line of their song The End proclaims, “in spite of it all, life is beautiful”.
