TINY HABITS
All For Something (Mom+Pop)
Soothing, romantic harmonies echo against strummed acoustic guitar to create a debut album from Tiny Habits that is evocative and plays on the senses. The vocals, elongated and soulful, transport you on a whimsical escapade away from everyday life. Step forward Maya Rae, Cinya Khan and Judah Mayowa, aka Boston trio Tiny Habits.
Lyrically and vocally, All For Something is nuanced and eclectic, swinging from a heartbroken lyrical tack to a jovial, relaxed delivery. Circling talks of ‘‘everything circling around us and promising a lifetime of love”; romance and longing are consistent themes. And while covering Fleetwood Mac is no easy feat, the trio tackle Landslide with aplomb, underlining that band’s already evident influence.
Storytelling is this band’s greatest trait, and piano ballad Malleable feels human and relatable. Tiny Habits are a folk-pop colossus.
