Out of the fields and under several roofs, the last quarter of 2024 holds some last hurrahs for the year’s festival calendar. Sŵn Festival, a fixture of Cardiff city centre since 2007, is hot to trot again in 2024, and Joshua Williams is as excited as anyone.
Lambrini Girls
These Brighton punks are a sheer force to be reckoned with live. Off the back of a super busy summer and with new single Company Culture just released, there’s not a better time to catch Lambrini Girls.

Mary In The Junkyard
Another band who’ve had a busy ol’ summer, Mary In The Junkyard are well worth catching with their “angry, weepy, chaos rock”. The trio released their debut EP This Old House earlier this year, and are ones to watch going forward.

English Teacher
Possibly the most buzzy band to be playing this year, English Teacher have just won the Mercury Prize for their debut album This Could Be Texas and are almost guaranteed to be one of the busiest sets at Sŵn 2024. Get down early to avoid disappointment!

Hana Lili
Of course, there is also some homegrown talent on offer too. Sully’s own Hana Lili is at Sŵn and is no stranger to big gigs having supported Coldplay last year at the stadium. She’s gonna be a star, don’t you know?
Cornerstone, Sat 19 Oct
Mellt
There’s also space for some other award-winners too, in the form of Aberystwyth’s Mellt whose debut full-length was the Eisteddfod’s 2018 Welsh Language Album Of The Year. Their second came out in 2023, and they’re well worth seeing at Swn 2024.
