Stay Voiceless
Lies To Tell Your Children
Unsigned
Grungy alternative-rockers Stay Voiceless have been tearing up South Wales’ music scene for years. With a brooding emphasis on 90s nostalgia, the band deliver unflinchingly brutal rock music. Since 2016, we have rejoiced in numerous singles from them, so it was only a matter of time before fans demands for a debut album offering were met. The highly anticipated Lies To Tell Your Children is due to be released this August.
Laced in heavy guitar licks, and fuelled by enticing vocals. Stay Voiceless are known for knocking us off-kilter, with their brilliantly twisted vocals. Fans have come to expect nothing less, from the sinister but smiling 3-piece. With a love of the darkness and the disturbing, songs are poisonous yet poignant. Touching a nerve, but doing it so well.
Deeply rooted from an anger at the system and what the band refer to as Broken Britain. Lies To Tell Your Children is a collection of ten guitar-driven anthems, that take unapologetic aim with a direct honesty. A harsher, more cutting jab at the current state of the world, than previous releases. We are presented with the restlessness of rage and raw emotion, to rouse our very core. Swathing this within the fury of a fierce sound; building tempos and shredding riffs ensure their message is forced to the very forefront.
Singles I Am A Weight and Where’s Our Revolution Summer? that feature on the debut, have already began to turn heads. The band has received backing from BBC Introducing and rave reviews are pouring in.
Drowning in glorious punk-rock energy, Lies To Tell Your Children really does exude every aspect it set out to. You can hear the heady 90s influence, whirring guitars and thought-provoking vocals. The ferocity of 80s punk bleeds through in the albums aforementioned amplified sound and charged lyrics. I am left longing for the sight of a stage. Crazed front man Chris Morgan surfing across the crowd. Piercing bright lights and deafening speakers pulsating through my soul, with that incredibly biting sound that Stay Voiceless are able to dominate.
Through a heavy-set influence from icons of the past, Stay Voiceless grasp their sound by the scruff of its neck, and hurtle it into the modern-day. Politically charged, rousing and vibrant.
Rock and roll doesn’t know what has hit it. Be prepared for the onslaught.
Lies To Tell Your Children is fast approaching.
