SINFONIA CYMRU: STRAUSS TICKETS | COMPETITION
Richard Harrington, the star of S4C’s murder mystery hit Hinterland/Y Gwyll, is joining forces with Sinfonia Cymru. He will sharing a stage with the orchestra in a special concert that celebrates 150 years since the birth of German composer Richard Strauss.
The performance will put Strauss’ beautifully somber piece Metamorphosen, which is thought to have been written about the destruction of Munich during the Second World War, alongside his more jovial composition Le Bourgeois Gentilhomme which tells the tale of a humorously foolish middle-aged man attempting to climb his way up the social ladder, into the realms of aristocracy.
Reading from the play Le Bourgeois Gentilhomme (which Strauss later created his orchestral suite from) and be portraying roles very different to his Hinterland/Y Gwyll character of a troubled detective solving a series of brutal murders.
The show will hitting Pontyberem’s Memorial Hall on Fri 21 and The Riverfront in Newport on Sun 23 Mar. They will also be performing at Cardiff’s Dora Stoutzker Hall, at the Royal Welsh College Of Music And Drama on Sat 22 March and we have a pair of free tickets to give away for the Cardiff show!
