SCARLET REBELS
Where The Colours Meet (Earache)
As Llanelli hard rock band Scarlet Rebels return with their third album, Where The Colours Meet, they describe it as “a melting pot of lyrical themes and sonic elements – from mental health to love and dreams, from piano and sitar to joyful bells – so it’s truly where the colours meet.”
High tempo for the most part and boasting a plentiful array of instrumentation – guitar, piano, keyboards and powerfully mixed drums all make their presence felt – Secret Drug sees cool guitar swagger blend against a rip-roaring chorus, while contrastingly, Practice Run is a heartache ballad allowing frontman Wayne Doyle to showcase his melodic croons.
Where The Colours Meet delivers an AC/DC meets Jack Black sound; moreover, this band have a strong moral compass and made a name for themselves collecting items for foodbanks at their live shows. Admirably, with this album, Scarlet Rebels are now giving charity shops first access to their new music.
