Tackling the still-taboo issue of domestic violence against men and exposing the myth of male invulnerability, Revelation, a play by Patrick Jones, will be showcasing on Thurs 12 March at the Riverfront Arts Centre, Newport.
The play follows Steve, initially a keen lover and father, as he turns into a person teetering on the edge of his existence as he is physically abused, tortured and psychologically tormented by his partner Dionne.
Patrick Jones, who is a poet, playwright, human rights activist and filmmaker, spent months researching the play and the end product is based on over 40 interviews with men who have been victims of domestic violence.
The British Council (London) will be attending Revelation on Thursday to assess whether the play could be selected to be showcased at the Edinburgh Fringe in August.
