Hedone @ The Duke, Neath
Sat 27 Oct
Halloween parties; the time to get down to the Monster Mash and dress in devilish outfits for the season. It sometimes feels like a frenzy to discover events that won’t necessarily plug out spooky tracks, so here’s a gem for those might not feel like coordinating the night to Thriller.
Hailing from Amsterdam, brothers New Jack City are headlining The Duke in Neath this Halloween weekend. With an early awakened love of music, Rogier and Guido Verbaal are becoming adored for creating old-school mixes. Having toured across Europe extensively, they are rapidly becoming known to take the best of booming partystarters and deliver with a real authenticity. The duo largely mix house with a heavy influence of 90s classics throughout, where they have mastered how to intertwine subgenres with palpable force.
Also on the bill are Hedone’s residents, accompanied by Michael Rutherford. By day, the venue is a pub, meaning the intimate setting is ideal for those who may want to escape the crowds of Halloween but revel in a night of European club anthems. With an early(ish) close of 2am, see the morning in with a flavour of the Netherlands right here in Wales. FRJ
