Tiffany Murray had, in a lot of ways, the childhood most music fans could only dream about. In other ways, there were gaps in her life, filled by an embarrassment of rock star encounters, and now she’s put pen to paper to share her story with the world in My Family And Other Rock Stars.

You see, Murray was brought up in the legendary Rockfield Studios in Monmouthshire in the late 1970s – a time when music was really branching out and some of the most groundbreaking albums of all time were being created, including in this Wye Valley studio. Murray’s idyllic, sun-baked countryside upbringing was filled with days of romping through the fields with her dog, making friends with the local wildlife and helping her mum cook lavish hearty meals, taken to a further dreamlike state as figures like David Bowie, Ozzy Osbourne and David Cassidy come into the fray, adding to Rockfield’s already magical aura.

The star cameos come thick and fast, all having helped shape Murray’s life in one form or other, and the author has managed to combine all these tales with her own coming-of-age account, to create a wonderful memoir telling both her own and the Rockfield’s magical backstory.
