Mr. Nice
A biopic starring Rhys Ifans about the life of notorious drug smuggler Howard Marks is to hit UK cinema screens in October.
Ifans, who is friends with Howard Marks, stars as the Bridgend-born international marijuana smuggler in Mr. Nice (pronounced like the French city rather than the adjective, apparently).
Marks shot to fame as a drug smuggler who believed vehemently in the legalisation of cannabis. Through a string of high profile court cases, as well as links with the IRA and the mafia he was often seen as a political criminal rather than merely a drug smuggler.
The film, which is named after Marks’s autobiography, is a sexy comedy-drama that follows Howard Marks’s life from Oxford University to becoming a teacher and all the fun and smuggling in-between.
Dealing with issues regarding the legalisation of the drug and Howard’s influence in the drugs trade, this film is an entertaining watch.
Mr. Nice hits cinemas on Fri 8 Oct but courtesy of Entertainment One, we’ve got 10 pairs of tickets to watch the film’s preview in Cardiff on Mon 27 Sept at 7pm in Cineworld.
