The most flamboyant, exciting and downright fun fun fun party is set to hit Cardiff this weekend. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, the Cardiff Mardi Gras (Sat 29-Sun 30 Aug) is here, and what a selection of cabaret-tinged treats it has up its sleeve.
The free festival is taking place at Coopers Field in Cardiff and is going have entertainment also supplied by Wales Millennium Centre. The centre have garnered a programme full of disco, glam, and pocket rockets that carries on in a very similar vein to their Blysh festival back in July. One thing’s for certain it will definitely be a night that’ll stick firmly in your mind.
Acts include the effortlessly kitsch Boogaloo Stu (pictured above) who is a DJ, rock star, TV presenter, apparel designer and many other things to many other people. Either way, just one glance at his getup and you know what you’re in for, some glam-fuelled disco fun.
The Mardi Gras is a celebration of the diversity of lesbian and gay life in Wales and welcomes everyone without judgement or prejudice. And please don’t think that if you’re straight its not for you. This is an excellent free festival that should, without a doubt, be seen at some point in your life, so why not make it this weekend.
