The Brit Award-winning indie rock band Kaiser Chiefs will be performing at Cardiff’s SSW Swalec Stadium this summer featuring some special guests including one of the UK’s biggest rappers Dizzee Rascal and indie pop band Everything Everything.
Fronted by Rickey Wilson, winning coach on the UK talent show The Voice, the Kaiser Chiefs will headline an open-air show in July, performing hits from their five albums including I Predict a Riot, Coming Home, Every Day I Love You Less And Less, Never Miss a Beat and Ruby, the music that made the band what they are today.
Opening the show is Mercury Music Prize winner Dizzee Rascal, bringing hip-hop to Cardiff. The established rapper and songwriter will be kick off the event performing his most celebrated hits including Fix Up Look Sharp, Bonkers, Dance Wiv Me, and Holiday.
Accompanying the Kaiser Chiefs and Dizzee Rascal is the pioneering indie pop band Everything Everything. The alternative indie band are known for their detailed lyrics, dynamic style and their rare production and rhythmic approaches that essentially steer more towards the R&B and Glitch Pop genres than indie rock. This unique foursome is due to perform after Dizzee Rascal opens the show.
This day-long celebration of music will commence at 2pm on Saturday July 16th with doors closing at 10.30pm. Kaiser Chiefs are due to take to the stage around 8.30pm while stage times for the special guests and additional support acts will be confirmed closer to the date.
The event marks an exciting renewed musical interest in the venue, with Simply Red playing the venue the following day. The concerts complement the jam packed cricket schedule with regular Glamorgan games for Specsavers CC and NWT20, and England test games against Sri Lanka and Pakistan.
