Promoters are setting up a 1,000 capacity marquee in Sophia Gardens for a massive silent festival that will hopefully pave the way for similar events over the summer.
Steve Bines, promoter of the event has expressed great interest in getting different promoters to work together and really push Cardiff’s music scene.
“There’s a music scene in Cardiff but we don’t sell it to the outside world very well. It’s one step at a time.
“Provided this runs as well as our event last year we’ve got dates pencilled in that we can use during the summer.”
For those of you who are not silent disco savvy, you listen to music through headphones and are thus, to the outside world, dancing in silence. There are also a variety of DJs to listen to.
The event was set up as a delightful antidote to the unofficial parties that left parklands in tatters in May as well as something that will help stoke the fire of Cardiff’s music scene.
“We want to give Cardiff something to get excited about,” said fellow promoter Jason Philips.
The event will take place on Thurs 23 April.
