EXCLUSIVE: Watch HEDDLU’s explosive new video for single Auto-Da-Fé

July 29, 2022 Category: Music, Previews Region: Mid Wales
Heddlu
Heddlu

Heddlu is the project of Rhodri Daniel, previously a founding member of alternative rock act Estrons who gained traction for their fuzz-drenched temper traps. Buzz reviewed their debut single in this column, and now third Heddlu single Auto-Da-Fé (meaning ‘Act of Faith’ in Spanish) is the latest in a string of tracks that the Ceredigion native has created as a reaction to his hearing recovery. After touring the live circuit excessively, Rhodri was diagnosed with hearing loss, tinnitus and severe sensitivity to noise meaning his consumption of music suddenly looked very different.

RELATED: ‘Ailsa Tully is looking to build her already burgeoning profile in 2022 – which started with Wrexham’s FOCUS Wales festival in May and ramping up for Green Man this August.’

The explosive single, released through Zawn Records, conveys how we continually put ourselves on trial for past mistakes. And we’ve been given an exclusive look at the music video by Heddlu for Auto-Da-Fé! Directed by Craig ‘Trashman’ Shankland & Declan Young, you can view it below.

Cantref, Heddlu’s 11-song debut album, is also out today and can be streamed below.

words EMMA WAY

KEEP READING: ‘The Bug Club appear to be on a mission to play every single festival in existence this summer but will be returning to Le Pub in October. It’ll be a party not to be missed.’

APPLICATIONS for spring term 22 are now Closed: If you’re 18-30, live in Wales, and want to get ahead in the creative and cultural industries, express your interest for autumn term.
