Delete @ Gwdihw, Cardiff
Sun 29 July
As summer rolls around, the Delete crowd return to Gwdihw’s carpark with an enigmatic thump. Having previously delivered some big-name bookings to this venue, in the form of Gerd Janson, Jeremy Underground and Robert Hood, this outing sees Delete import one of London’s dancefloor pioneers, Enzo Siragusa, across the River Severn.
Alongside Seb Zito, Siragusa launched record label Fuse in 2008, and from the humble beginnings of their intimate Sunday parties, Fuse has developed its reputation into one of the cornerstones of the London clubbing scene, evocative of the passion with which Siragusa himself has approached dance music since his indoctrination in the early 90s. As a DJ, producer and the driving force behind Fuse, Enzo Siragusa has flourished alongside a scene in London that he has become synonymous with; yet having endured 20 years of its peaks, troughs and fads, he’s emerged with the same insatiable appetite for his craft.
Though predominantly residing in the realms of high-end house and techno, Siragusa’s trademark sound cannot quite be pinned down. The beauty of his infectious sets today is the exhibition of a master craftsman, peppering unfindable house tracks with influences across the electronica spectrum. Held in high regard by his peers, such an exclusive appearance will no doubt have Cardiff heads champing at the bit. CHARLIE COTTRELL
