EDWARD SCISSORHANDS | COMPETITION
Love, romance, monsters and scissors – the ballet re-invention of Tim Burton’s dark fairytale film Edward Scissorhands will be dancing onto the stage at the Wales Millennium Centre, Cardiff Bay, this month.
Created by choreographic heavy-weight Matthew Bourne (whose gender swapping production of Swan Lake became the longest running ballet on both West End and Broadway), Edward Scissorhands tells the tale of an artificial man, Edward, whose eccentric inventor leaves him unfinished when he suddenly dies. What part didn’t he get to finish? Yup, you guessed it, his hands! Instead of flesh and fingers Edward has scissors.
Having been built in a secluded tower poor wee Edward spends the next few years completely alone, until the Avon Lady comes calling!
