Wed 6 Jan + Fri 15 Jan Selecta 10pm, £5/£3. Classic UK garage anthems with a hint of grime all night long with Rich Tea.
Wed 27 Jan Boiler Room 7.30-11pm. Details TBC but presumably this will have DJs playing in front of a live stream, and if you want to show your coupon on the internet you’ll need a ticket.
Thurs 10 + Tue 21 Jan Fire: Strictly Grime 10.30pm-4am, £4/£3. Rich Tea plays the big hitters of UK grime. The January night is called Shutdown on the listings but as far as I can tell they’re the same night.
Thurs 17 Paranoize 10.30pm-4am, £4. An eclectic mix of disco, 90’s house and techno from residents.
Thurs 31 RSP 10pm-4am, £11/£8. Not sure who these promoters are but they snagged NYE in Undertone back in July, and are entrusting vibes to DJs of an intrumental grime/bass music nature Madam X, Silk Road Assassins, Majora, Odeko and Fa·çade.
Fri 4 Hully Gully 10pm-4am, £5. Away from their normal Gwdihw home as a one-off, top disco DJ Frank Booker spins alongside Veto, Double Cee and Van Pelt.
Fri 11 Castles Nights – Techno Culture 10.30pm-4am, £5-£10. Headlined by Cardiff’s own The Organ Grinder, hard techno until the early morning is promised here (not really sure hard techno is TOG’s ‘thing’ but we’ll see).
Fri 18 Rotary Club 10.30pm-4am, £4/£3. Exciting, decorative parties with a wide range of dance music ranging from disco/funk, to house and techno. Andrew Hill is the guest DJ tonight.
*Fri 1 Jan Memorex 10pm-4am, £12/£10. Cardiff house promoters seem to be getting more ruffly techno with every booking. Scottish duo Clouds are headlining (over The Organ Grinder, Dave Little and Murder) this one. If their productions are any indication this will be fairly mental. Maybe have a nap during the day if you’re planning to do NYE then this.
Fri 22 Jan Distant Glow 10pm-4am. Electronic stuff (I think a DJ set, maybe live) from a Cardiff duo who claim to be influenced by Vangelis, Stockhausen and Harry Partsch.
Sat 5 Deep Inside 10pm-4am. Modern style deep/jackin house with a lineup TBC.
Sat 12 + Sat 26 Groove Theory 10pm-5am, £10-£14. On Sat 12, Sadar Bahar of the Soul In The Hole label in Chicago headlines with one of his acclaimed sets of rare disco, soul, boogie etc. Sat 26 is TBC but carries with it the inevitable prompt to “work off that turkey”.
Sat 19 + Fri 8 Jan Yagga 10.30pm-4am. Big boy jungle bizness with further details yet to be released.

Sat 6 Feb Memorex 9pm-4am, £20 adv. Siberian goddess of the tundra Nina Kraviz makes what I think is her Cardiff debut, with The Organ Grinder, Scott Kerr, Sinky and JV also on board. Tickets for this sold out immediately but this probably has a lot to do with dickheads buying loads more than they actually need, so check Facebook or whatever.
