From the 21 May the second year photography students of Coleg Glan Hafren will be holding an exhibition of their projects in Butetown History and Arts Centre.
Alix Kober’s project is based on the theme of delicacy. She produces pictures of women with octopi, which she says aim “to portray the fragility yet toughness between octopus and women, in quite a surreal and fashionable style.”
LLoyd Pursall, whose images include a woman’s face caked in mud, said: “My final project explores insecurities that effect people in their day to day life. I have tried to create honest images which connect with the people suffering from a physical problem.”
Holly Emery’s theme is inspiration. She said: “It’s based on people and places who give me inspiration for projects and ideas. The images can also trigger other people’s memories as some of my shooting locations evoked other similar locations. I used film to include double exposures and light leaks which created interesting effects.”
