Reality Competition: The Great Celebrity Bake Off For SU2C – Channel 4/All4
What could be more entertaining than watching celebrities test their baking abilities, all to raise money for Stand Up To Cancer? The starry cast of this year’s lineup are a rather mixed bunch, all observed by the beady eyes of judges Paul and Prue, with host Matt Lucas throwing some light-hearted humour in for good measure. Weekly contestants range from Hollywood actors Daisy Ridley and James McAvoy to singer Ann Marie and documentary maker Stacey Dooley, all competing for star baker. Each episode includes a touching true story of a family affected by cancer, with the hope that the audience will be inspired to donate and have a go at baking for a good cause.

Mystery/Thriller: Keeping Faith – BBC One/BBC iPlayer
Lawyer Faith Howells (Eve Myles) finds her life is turned upside down when her business partner (Hannah Daniel) goes missing. The third series of this gripping thriller [pictured, top] is now available to stream, alongside Series 1 and 2 for those who want to catch up with the story so far. Comedy Drama: Derry Girls – All4/Netflix
Hilarious, sassy and loveable: if you haven’t yet watched this popular comedy drama, it’s the perfect binge watch for a weekend. Erin, Clare, Orla, Michelle and wee English boy James are teenagers living on the cusp of change as the Troubles rage in 90s Northern Ireland. Under the watchful eye of Sister Michael, they get up to many a disastrous scrape or two, but never without plenty of laughs that follow. This charming and relatable hit series, devised by Lisa McGee, features a witty script and nostalgic soundtrack, and despite its two-year hiatus, a third series is expected to be filmed this year.

The perfect sunny escape from your living room, this charming drama based on the autobiography of Gerald Durrell will keep you entertained whatever the weather. When Louisa Durrell (Keeley Hawes) decides to uproot her family from rainy Bournemouth to sunny Corfu, she has little idea how life changing this will be, as she faces the difficult task of keeping her unruly and very different children in check.

Biographical Drama: Ammonite – available to rent on Amazon Prime Video
While cinemas remain closed to the viewing public, new film releases can be found via streaming platforms delivered straight to your living room. Ammonite, the latest film from director Francis Lee, tells the story of 19th century palaeontologist Mary Anning (Kate Winslet), and the discovery sparked by her relationship with a repressed wife (Saoirse Ronan).
