ARAB STRAP
I’m totally fine with it don’t give a fuck anymore (Rock Action)
Scottish duo Arab Strap return with their second album since their reformation, the brilliantly titled I’m totally fine with it don’t give a fuck anymore. It kicks off with Allatonceness, on which frontman Aidan Moffat gives a bleak assessment of the contemporary culture wars (“They’ve got your attention … Antagonized fanboys, while Nazis and rapists sell merch”) alongside some uncharacteristic heavy guitar.
It’s a striking beginning to an album that places Arab Strap firmly in the modern day, sounding more relevant and contemporary than ever and delivering some of their strongest work. The album continues where 2021’s As Days Get Dark left off, with no slowing down. Lead single Bliss is classic Arab Strap, its pounding electronic beat and drum machine taking us back to more familiar territory, while Strawberry Moon and the rather catchy Haven’t You Heard ensure that Arab Strap’s comeback continues to impress.
