Back again in Cardiff, following on from the release of latest album The Last Hero, American rockers Alter Bridge bring their heavy hitting rock and roll masterclass to the Motorpoint Arena.

Alter Bridge burst onto the music scene in 2004 with the release of their gold-selling debut, One Day Remains. In 2007, the band released Blackbird, the album that established the band as arguably one of the most underrated rock bands in the world.  The epic solo in the title track was voted Greatest Guitar Solo Of All Time by the UK’s Guitarist magazine. ABIII followed in 2010 and the single Isolation gave the band their first #1 radio single in the USA.  The fantastic Fortress was released in 2013 and achieved Top 10 chart status in five countries and Top 20 in another five – overall the band’s highest worldwide chart positions to date, sending them on a number of international arena-sized tours.

During the band’s few hiatuses, lead singer Myles Kennedy has also successfully fronted Guns n’ Roses Slash’s band. Lead guitarist Mark Tremonti has recently released his third album from his band Tremonti, titled Dust. Scott Phillips formed Projected with John Connolly and Vinnie Hornsby of Sevendust and also released their debut in 2012. To say they’re a busy bunch would be an understatement.

Special guests on Monday evening include Danish rockers Volbeat, who released their sixth album, Seal The Deal & Let;s Boogie, earlier this year. French metal group, Gojira,will be giving fans a taste of their crushing new album Magma, and up-and-coming New Zealanders Like A Storm aim to get the party started.

Expect a jam-packed set list of hits spanning Alter Bridge’s full back catalogue. Fan favourites Blackbird and Metalingus will surely sound out on the night, while epic new releases Show Me A Leader, The Other Side and Writing’s On The Wall are sure to find their way on to the setlist.

The band’s faithful following will no doubt be in attendance, but this is a perfect opportunity for any fan of rock music to watch an absolutely polished outfit put on a outstanding rock show. One definitely not to be missed.
