ALL ON THE BOARD | BOOK REVIEW
Ian Redpath & Jeremy Chopra (Yellow Kite)
On the most lonesome dog’s dinner of a day, the uplifting words written with a marker pen on the London Underground information boards can make one pause for thought. All On The Board are two Underground employees, Ian Redpath and Jeremy Chopra, who were anonymously known as N1 (No-one) and E1 (EveryOne), or, together, NE1 (AnyOne). Their hand-scribed whiteboard musings have brightened up many a day over the last three years, and as a result have built up a large and dedicated fanbase including Fearne Cotton, Sam Smith, Michelle Obama, Liam Gallagher and an Instagram page with over 600,000 followers.
All On The Board: Inspirational Quotes From The TFL Underground Duo is a brightly colourful book, split into different chapters with AOTB’s quotes vividly reproduced. Amongst a fair few different topics – Love, Legends, Random Treasures – there are chapters titled Raising Awareness, Mental Health, In It Together and Positively Positive, each prefaced by a handful of pages where the altruistic duo give an insight into their daily lives and experiences. It all adds up to an enormous emotional boost of positivity, kindness and humour.
