Pontardawe Arts Centre
Fri 15 – Sat 16 Dec
Just like pigs in blankets, Bucks Fizz for breakfast and the Dr Who special, a trip to the pantomime is a staple part of the festive period for children and adults alike, and this year the Pontardawe Arts Centre is taking a Christmas classic to a whole new place. This 18+ interpretation of Aladdin takes place in a laundrette after-hours, where Tony White MBE will be wowing the crowd with risqué jokes, sexual innuendos and witty one-liners as the infamous Widow Twankey, and Harry Lynn takes the role of sexually frustrated and suggestive Aladdin himself. The story follows ambitious Aladdin falling in love with sex siren Princess Jasmine but in order to ‘make her his tramp’ he must find a lamp! Along with help from the saucy sorcerer Abanazar, Aladdin must conquer his dark desires and get the girl of his dreams. This filthy adaptation is not for the sensitive or faint-hearted, but promises to be the ‘carpet-ride’ of your life and tickets should truly be at the top of your fantasy Christmas list! With 8pm showings on both nights of its run, this is a fantastic, flirty bargain to get the festive juices flowing.
Tickets: £11.80/£13. Info: 01792 863722 / https://npttheatres.co.uk/pontardawe/ (RH)
